Welcome new little ones

Congrats to Scott and Jan Young, who are new grandparents. Ashley and Glenn Clabeaux welcomed their beautiful baby girl Lydea Shay Clabeaux on Thursday, March 12, 2009, at 11:30 a.m. Lydea weighed 7 pounds 11 ounces and was 20 and ½ inches long.

Congrats Debbie Gore, who has a new grand child! The beautiful little baby girl Mary Samantha Higgins was born on Sunday, March 29, 2009, at 1:59 a.m. weighing 8 pounds and was 20 and ½ inches long. Mom and baby Mary are doing great!

Welcome to WHCCD

 

Richard Post is the new interim executive director of the foundation. He comes to the foundation out of retirement. Richard, or Rick as he likes to be called, has over thirty years of higher education experience as a faculty member, division chair and academic dean. He taught at the College of the Desert in Palm Desert, CA for 27 years and has served as an adjunct instructor at California State University, San Bernardino and Chapman University.

 

While at COD, Rick also held many administrative roles including dean of applied science and business, director of career and technical education and executive director of the College of the Desert Foundation.

 

Rick is also a member of the State Bar of California since 1983. He is married to Pam and has one grown son, Rick Jr., and two grand children.

Baby Sofia Avila was baptized on Saturday, March 21 in Guadalajara, Mexico. Proud parents are Pedro and Jeanette Avila. Pedro works at the district office as the director of Institutional Effectiveness and Planning.

Sharon Williams and Amber Avitia were both shocked to find out that they were both graduating from the University of Phoenix.
